IAM District 78 Member Penny Frangou Awarded Scholarship For WSIB Training

In early 2020, IAM member Penny Frangou was awarded a scholarship to attend worker based training on WSIB issues. 

The program is offered by Prevention Link, supported by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, and is governed by the Ontario Federation of Labour.

The program includes:

  • training;
  • mentoring;
  • outreach; and
  • advisory services for both unionized and non-unionized workers, workplace representatives, and employers wishing to engage in cost-effective, collaborative and results based outcomes.

Penny (in the photo above holding her certificate) is IAM Local Lodge 2113’s Benefit Representative, and a Chief Steward at her workplace, Veoneer in Markham.
