Background

Fifty public health nurses in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties started strike action on Monday, August 21. Read more about the strike here.

These workers, members of ONA Local 31, provide vital health care to over 200,000 people in the region, but they’ve been without a contract since December 2022.

They are fighting for decent wages, a fair contract, and good public health services for their community.
