100 more Stelia workers join IAM

Mirabel, QC – Making sure their seniority was protected was the number one priority of the 100 newest members of IAM Local Lodge 712.

Seniority was the top issue for the 100 new members and that priority has been safeguarded. IAM District 11 Business Representative, Éric Rancourt, with the help of the DL 11 Organising Committee, worked closely with the group at Stelia until they were assured their concerns were addressed.

“Now, it’s time to build our Bargaining Committee and we’re in the process of electing those who will negotiate our first contract,” said Rancourt. “This is a great opportunity for the new members to be involved in their own future,” he said.

The Stelia division builds fuselages for Global Express business jets. They join 246 others working at Stelia Aerospace who are already members of LL 712.

Stelia Aerospace St. Laurent workers changed employers on February 13^th, 2020, when Bombardier divested its business in the Airbus A-220 Limited Partnership.
