Political Aspirations
Malcolm Lewis-Richmond decided to run in federal politics to bring hope to young people about their futures. He was nominated by his friends, neighbours and community members in NDG—Westmount, where he’s called home for 19 years. Youth face precarious employment in their early employment years and are too often taken advantage of by their corporate bosses.
Also, the environmental crisis seems to only be getting worse with Canada’s continued support of big oil and gas with public subsidies. Meanwhile, Canadians are suffering to pay the bills and afford basics like housing and groceries.
With his experience as IAM Local 3011 President, he understands how workers can build power when they stand together, and sees the need for strong worker-oriented
To get involved, you can sign up as a volunteer at malcolmlewisrichmond.ndp.ca. Malcolm needs supporters to accompany him at his community events and canvass sessions in Montréal. Supporters can also contribute with a donation, which can be eligible for a tax credit up to 75%.
