The IAM Organizes 70 new members at Clean International in Yamachiche

The group of workers chose to join the IAMAW after seeing the quality of union representation offered to their colleagues from Clean International in Drummondville and Saint-Cuthbert.

“In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, many workers have seen it as an asset for them to be part of our union. Realizing that they were going to be more respected by their employer and advance their working conditions significantly, they didn’t hesitate for a second before joining the IAMAW, organizing this group of workers was a collective effort on the part of the entire District 11 organizing team,” said organizer Eric Gagné.

The new group of workers is responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of processed food equipment at the Olymel slaughterhouse in Yamachiche.

It is an honour for us to welcome them to the ranks of the IAMAW. They will join Local 712.
