On September 18, 2023, a small group of the Local 1863 Retirees Club visited the Detroit International Auto Show.

Seen in the group photo on the main staircase are: IAM&AW LL 1863 brothers Don Fisher, Brian Pollock, Gary McPhee, Mike Drennan, John Stadelmann (club president), and the photographer is John White. The visitors really enjoyed their trip and experienced riding in the current electric vehicles. Also, they saw the new airborne car for 2025 (see second image), all of which will be described at the Local 1863 Retirees Club meeting in the Goderich Legion, Branch 109, Kingston Street, Goderich, on October 11th, 2023.
