Two of the sisters Rai Sagar and Heather Johnston did the drop off for the 1231 women’s committee charity drive.

Rose of Sharon provides support to young moms ranging in age from 14-29.

Justine Kobitowich- Nutrition & Resource Coordinator was the main contact and stated they were currently in need of larger size diapers and other baby items like creams and formula.

Deanne Kukulewich the executive director gave the ladies a tour of the facility and explained about the different services and programs they offer- from counseling and support to high school classes and life skills; such as nutrition and cooking.

They have a program for the babies and young children while the moms are in the classes or receiving services.

They have a large number of volunteers that help with the donations that come in as well as a food pantry and clothing sections for the babies and moms.

They are very grateful for the donation that the members of 1231 put together!

The 1231 Women’s Committee would like to thank everyone who donated to this cause!

Coat Collection- Service to the Community

IAM District 78 Women’s committee recently organized a collection of winter coats, which were delivered to the Cambridge Shelter, a homeless shelter, whose members are represented by the IAM. The committee would like to send a special “THANK YOU” to all the members of Local 2113 for their generous contributions which made the collection a great success. The IAM Sisters pictured above are only four of the many Sisters that were involved in making this collection a success. “Donations like this are greatly appreciated and will directly impact the lives of those in need. We are so proud of the work our members do everyday to improve the lives of people in their community” said Directing Business Representative Kim Valliere. Justice on the Job, Service to the Community
