Vancouver, BC – Passenger Service Agents working for Envoy Air Inc. at Vancouver International airport have rallied to the IAM. Servicing American Airlines, they had the opportunity to speak with their co-workers who joined the IAM in October 2019.
The 14 new members join the 20 ramp workers in Vancouver and 20 in Montreal who work for Envoy Air and have joined the IAM in recent years.
“Their main issues were wages, benefits and shift scheduling,” said Todd Haverstock, General Chairperson with IAM District 140. The new members will join IAM Local Lodge 16.
“It was a short campaign, just one week,” said Haverstock. “The agents saw what we were able to achieve for the newly-organized ramp agents and they wanted to have the same type of improvements. The group was impressed and wanted the IAM to represent them.”
Envoy Air Inc. (formerly American Eagle Airlines) is an air carrier headquartered in Irving, Texas. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group that, along with several carriers outside the group, feeds the American Airlines route network under the American Eagle brand.
