First Collective Agreement for Daher Unit (Local Lodge 712)

Some 100 workers in Daher unit have a solid first collective agreement for the next three years.

“This first contract lays a solid foundation on which we can build in the future to seek new gains,” says Luc Frigon, District 11 Business Representative; responsible for Daher Unit.

This first employment contract includes the FTQ’s set up of a member-funded pension plan (MFPP), the introduction of group and disability insurance, the addition of a shift premium of up to $2/hour and a crew leader premium of between $1 and $5 per hour. The employer is also committed to providing work clothing to workers.

Overall wage increases, including bonuses, will range from 12% to almost 30% for some workers such as team leaders. For annual salary increases, in the first year of the contract, they will range from 3% to 4% and then remain at 1.5% for the following two years.

We also note the introduction of recognition for holidays, according to years of seniority within the Daher group; set up a time bank for overtime.

“I would like to thank Patrizio Meglio for his involvement and for the wise advice that brought us throughout this negotiation,” said Luc Frigon.

The Daher unit, which currently has about 100 workers, is set to expand rapidly in the coming years. The company’s Montreal activities include assembly and sub-assemblies, composites and plastics, equipment and specialized tools for the aerospace sector.
