The office staff for the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association (OCETA) in Toronto voted this week to join the IAM. The new members had heard good things about the IAM and voted 100% to join. “This is the third teacher union group to join us and we are looking forward to getting them a contract they can be proud of,” said IAM Organizer Scott Jackson.
Late last week, 96 Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses working for RNS Health Services voted by a two-to-one margin to join the IAM. These front-line workers provide home care for clients throughout York Region and are looking forward to the representation and security a Union can provide. Throughout 2020, IAM Union Organizers Rootisha Rampat-Sukhu and Scott Jackson have been steadily growing District 78 in the healthcare sector.
IAM Local Lodge 907, whose members work for the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC), have ratified their first Collective Agreement with the IAM.
