IAM Local Lodge 1975 Members Working at Anago Resources Ratify Collective Agreement
Members of IAM Local Lodge 1975 working at Anago Resources in youth custody facilities in London, Ontario recently ratified a one year collective agreement.
The members chose a short contract, as the result of the Ford government’s proposed Bill 124. This legislation is unconstitutional, as it imposes a three year period capping compensation increases for workers employed in publicly-funded institutions at 1%.
Despite this hurdle, the members were able to achieve increases to vision benefits, an additional holiday, clarification of seniority rights, overtime banking, and improvements to vacation pay.
“I thank the group for all the hard work and we look forward to getting back to the bargaining table at the end of the short contract, with the focus of gaining further improvements”, stated District 78 Representative Eric Johnston.
