District 78 Met Early March to Address COVID-19 at General Meeting
IAM District Lodge 78 met in early March 2020 for its General Meeting to address the growing COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on our members and workers across Ontario.
Please note that this meeting meeting was held on March 12, 2020, prior to Public Health Agency of Canada’s advisement of social distancing measures and while Canadians were still asked to continue with regular routines and activities.
The IAM Canadian Office and District 78 strongly endorse the the social distancing recommendations since put forward by the Public Health Agency of Canada.
Discussion and motions at the meeting included:
- Responding to the growing COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on members, their workplaces, and health and safety.
- Reports from the IAM delegation to the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) Lobby Day on Parliament Hill on February 25, 2020.
- Ongoing activities of our fantastic local Women’s Committees.
- Monthly review of District financials.
Next General Meeting: May 14, 2020
Members will be notified if the upcoming May General Meeting has to be rescheduled or cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
